Chassis

• FRAME: The frame on the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION is made of professionally crafted hydroformed Chromium Molybdenum steel tubes which are robot welded for the highest levels of consistent quality and strength. The frame stiffness is designed for optimal handling, comfort and high-speed stability. The orange powder coated frame is fitted with color matching frame protectors and a carbon fiber reinforced skid plate.
• SWINGARM: The cast aluminum design offers low weight and a perfect flex behavior. The single-component casting process eliminates any inconsistencies and inherent weak points created by welding.
• WHEELS: The KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION is fitted with high-end Factory wheels. They feature black D.I.D DirtStar rims and fully CNC-machined orange anodized hubs. Together with black spokes and orange anodized aluminum nipples, they guarantee minimal weight at maximum stability so that the rider will feel an increase in handling. Dunlop GEOMAX MX-33 tires put the power to the ground using the proven block-within-a-block design.
• FRONT SUSPENSION: The WP XACT 48 with innovative AER technology is a split function fork featuring a capsulated air spring and pressurized oil chamber for consistent and progressive damping, while offering supreme adjustability. Air spring adjustment is simple with the factory supplied WP digital air pump. Featuring a proven setting, the fork is also fitted with a mechanical holeshot device on its right leg. This ensures the proper weight distribution and ride height for getting to the first turn ahead of the competition.
• REAR SUSPENSION: The WP shock absorber has been developed with the entire frame and swingarm architecture in mind, including the linkage system and the WP XACT 48 front forks. It features machined and anodized components and is a valuable, high-end product compared to rough cast reservoirs.
• TRIPLE CLAMP: The CNC-machined Factory triple clamps match the stiffness of the frame perfectly while offering adjustable offset of 20 mm or 22 mm. In addition, its sophisticated fork clamping reduces internal friction for better sliding behavior of the inner fork legs. A rubber damping system reduces vibrations and increases rider comfort.
• BRAKES: A 260 mm floating front brake rotor is matched to a Brembo master cylinder and caliper for class-leading stopping power and feel. A front brake protector is fitted as standard equipment on the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITON.
• FUEL TANK: A lightweight polyethylene tank with a capacity of 1.85 gallons. The fuel tank cap has an inside thread, which makes for quick, easy and reliable closure.
• AIRBOX: The airbox design offers maximum protection of the air filter while ensuring maximum airflow. The large twin-air filter is mounted in a stiff cage, which helps to hold the system securely in place. This design is so simple, you can pop a fresh one in without tools, in seconds.

• CRANKSHAFT: The crankshaft on the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION is located in an ideal position close to the center of gravity, contributing to better mass centralization. It utilizes a short connecting rod, which allows for a compact motor design and a snappier power delivery. The whole unit is extremely well-balanced, with the perfect amount of inertia for optimal traction and ride-ability. A plain big end bearing with two force-fitted bearing shells, runs directly on the crank pin, with the necessary oil feed for this bearing supplied by the engine's pressure lubrication. • CYLINDER AND PISTON: Inside the short 95mm bore cylinder thumps a special forged box-in-box piston with a hard anodized compression ring groove and an optimized profile. Its crown geometry is adapted perfectly to the high-compression combustion chamber, where its rigid structure and low weight really shine. Thanks to the low oscillating masses, the engine is as snappy as it is strong.

• HANDLEBAR MAP SELECT SWITCH: Within easy reach of the left grip on all four-stroke models, the multifunctional handlebar map switch features innovative control functions: traction control, launch control and alternative power curves (standard, advanced). The traction control is a unique feature that guarantees more efficient traction and better control when accelerating the bike, especially in challenging track conditions. It can be activated on the handlebar map switch while riding. With a simple push of the two buttons at idle speed, the rider can also activate launch control, ensuring the most effective launch out of the gate. The lightweight battery and wiring harness are centralized in a compartment above the air filter box, allowing removal of the subframe without moving the electronics.
